Breaking into the film and entertainment industry can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t have a clear roadmap.
A lot of people only talk about the highlights:
getting the opportunity
landing the job
making the big move
But not enough people talk about what happens before that.
The applying
The rejection
The uncertainty
The feeling of trying to figure everything out as you go
And honestly? That’s the stage a lot of us are in.
That’s why I created Creatives on the Come Up.
Why I Started the Podcast
I wanted to create a space for people who are still building. Not people who have everything figured out. Not people pretending the journey is easy. Just real conversations about what it actually looks like to pursue a career in film and entertainment from the ground up. Because sometimes the hardest part of the journey is feeling like you’re the only one struggling through it. You’re not.
What the Podcast Is About
Creatives on the Come Up is a podcast focused on:
Navigating the early stages of a creative career
Dealing with rejection and uncertainty
Learning how the industry actually works
You will hear honest stories from people building careers in film, TV, and entertainment. I have conversations with assistants, coordinators, and emerging creatives. The goal is to make this journey feel less isolating and more honest.
The Reality of Starting Out
One thing I’m learning is that most people don’t start with perfect connections, clarity, or confidence. A lot of people are figuring things out in real time. And while social media can sometimes make it seem like everyone else is moving faster, there are so many people quietly trying, applying, growing, and staying consistent behind the scenes.
That matters too.
Who This Is For
This podcast is for:
The creative trying to get their foot in the door
The person applying to jobs and hearing nothing back
The person questioning if they’re on the right path
The person who feels behind compared to everyone else
If that’s you, I want you to know something: You are not the only one figuring it out.
Final Thoughts
You might not be where you want to be yet, but that doesn’t mean you’re not moving forward.
Sometimes growth looks like:
Continuing to apply
Continuing to learn
Continuing to create
Continuing to show up even when things feel unclear
And that’s what Creatives on the Come Up is about.
A place for honest conversations, real growth, and creatives who are still becoming.
